Permanent outdoor lighting, explained
Permanent outdoor lighting is a track of individually controlled LED fixtures mounted under your roof edge and wired to a small controller. It is installed one time and stays on the house year-round. During the day the track is color-matched to your trim and reads as a shadow line. At night you control color, brightness, scenes, and schedules from an app — warm white most evenings, holiday colors in December, team colors on a Sunday.

This is the first question almost everyone asks, and it's the right one. The track is ordered to match your fascia or trim color and it tucks up under the roof edge, so from the street you see a clean line — not a row of bulbs. Most homeowners tell us neighbors don't notice anything until the first time the lights come on.
This is also where our exteriors background earns its keep. Track goes on fascia and soffit — the same surfaces we've been working on for years. Straight lines, correct fasteners, no daylight gaps, and nothing that traps water where it shouldn't.

Minnesota is the hard test
A lighting system that works in Arizona is not automatically a system that works here. Ours goes through freeze-thaw cycles, ice dams, forty below, and then ninety-five and humid five months later. The fixtures are sealed and rated for it, and we install with expansion, ice loading, and meltwater paths in mind.

Will permanent lights survive a Minnesota winter?
Yes — that is the whole reason the system exists here. The fixtures are sealed and rated for outdoor use through freeze-thaw cycles, ice, and summer heat. We install with Minnesota in mind: the track is fastened to handle ice loading and expansion, and the wiring is run so meltwater has somewhere to go.
What can the lights actually do?
Every fixture is individually addressable, with 16 million colors and adjustable warm-to-cool white. From your phone you can run warm white for everyday curb appeal, set holiday scenes, sync to music, schedule by sunset, and control zones independently. Most people use warm white most nights and save the color for holidays and game days.
